FOUR YEARS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.
Leave our school with the skills and the dedication to excel professionally and to contribute to the well-being of others.
From academics to sports teams, to chesed, music and the arts, debate and limudei kodesh leshma, extra-curricular activities enrich a student’s high school experience.
Our students discover and expand their interests and talentswhile participating in school and community based programs.
Every human being is created in the image of God and therefore should be treated with dignity, respect and derekh eretz.
For the Rest of Your Life…
When Abraham approached Hashem to argue for the rescue of the people of Sodom, he established a precedent for all his future descendants. Jews, Abraham taught us, have to develop a close and intimate contact with the Hashem, creating strong spiritual connections and emulating His ways. But Jews also have to act in ways that evidence a strong constructive interaction with the world at large and articulate firm commitment to improve the lives of people around the world. The Yeshivah of Flatbush is built on these foundations.
The Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School aims to provide and education in which Jewish Studies are taught in Hebrew and which encourages and helps its students to grow as bnei and bnot Torah, full human beings committed to a Torah-halakhic lifestyle.
Much is changing in the Yeshivah as well. This year the Yeshivah expanded its Accelerated Science and Robotics program as part of the overall STEM initiative; Judaic Studies electives for Sophomores; more classes dedicated to writing aimed at honing this critical skill; a Pathfinders Program supporting internships, career exploration and advanced academic work as part of the enhanced College Guidance Department; use of iPads for all students; educational trips to Spain and Israel; Witness Theater; a Holocaust education project with survivors and selected students; an expanded Scholars Program and so much more.
A busload of parents of Yeshivah of Flatbush students came to Israel to support many chessed projects- including…Yashar LaChayal
